The Swedish fashion house & Other Stories owned by H & M is a great one stop shop for fashion staples. If you like COS (from H&M too) then you’ll love & Other stories. It has that wonderful minimalistic architectural vibe to its clothing, brilliant jewellery and accessories, a really cool shoe collection…. and all on a high street price tag. I love their Regent Street London store, but if that’s not on your radar, it’s available to buy here online.
I thought this a-line skirt could be a very cute addition to any (my ☺) Winter wardrobe…
Maybe with this clever, comfortable platform…
And a pretty flower hair clip…
Or these very sweet earings…
It’s high street that translates easily into any wardrobe. I’m thinking black a-line skirt, opaque tights, cream leather loafers or lace up brogues, a pretty lace/silk top, a girly cardigan (sparkle would be good!!) and maybe an androgynous coat with a vintage (old!) tote bag. I’m also thinking that I wish I had the artistic talent or computer skills required to put this together visually…. but that’s another story….
Sporty and fresh, white is always super cool and on trend ….. Here are a few pieces that I love…

In my humble opinion the Cos sale is a brilliant place to stock up on basics at seriously good prices. Form, structure and fabric that blend seamlessly into any wardrobe. Cos consistently produces collections that are fresh, classic, edgy, cool, the skeleton behind so many different looks I love. For me it’s the label that goes with everything I already own and considering their pricing is so good pre sale, it would be mad not to explore their sale racks! Click below to see what you think ♡♡♡
I’ve always liked the idea of hems that hang a few inches below a skirt. I don’t mean a flimsy hem but rather a strong line that adds length and structure to a look. Every summer I tell myself I’m going to buy silk organza in black, navy and cream and get a dressmaker to make me 3 slightly below the knee, straight, back slit for movement, double fabric big hem for stiffness, fitted under skirt . Can you visualize?? I love the idea of wearing them under a-line skirts and dresses from the high street that would be otherwise too short…..
Are you getting my drift?? (Inspiration compliments of past season Marni)
Every season the Cos sale is always well worth checking out and this season is no different. I recommend that you take a look, there is lots to see. Cos is one of my favourite stores for basics and at sale time they always have some great pieces at really tempting prices. And the good news…… If you can’t get it in the store, you might still get it online. I have always been lucky in this regard. For example…..
I bought this dress in a beautiful shade of dark green in October and wore it so much that I bought it in black from the online store in early December. The easy, slightly A-line shape and the excellent stretchy yet stiff jersey fabric make it very forgiving when it comes to hiding the Christmas pounds. Yes, this dress is proving to be a very good friend while I get myself back into some sort of shape! With long-sleeved tees or a blouse under and a pretty cardigan over, I’m finding it very easy to get dressed these days! At the moment I wear it with opaque tights and my lace up boots but you can see from the pic, it will bring me well into spring. In fact I know I will end up wearing it all year round.
So….. I am very tempted to go for the navy version, still available online and down 50% to £30.00……… I think I just might!
